Jacksonville Icemen Fan Experience
The Jacksonville Icemen are another local team that plays in the Vystar Memorial Veterans Arena and have been doing so since 2017!
The Jacksonville Icemen recently played the South Carolina Stingrays in February and we were so pleased by the new socially distanced guidelines put into play. It was very spacious around our seats and 6ft markers placed for when you wait in line. Masks are required the whole time unless eating or drinking.
For our first stop, we headed to the merchandise store to grab a t-shirt so we could cheer the Icemen on in style! We also grabbed a drink from Tended Bar which was a super cool experience. You sign up for a wristband and are allowed to come back and not wait in line when you want to fill up on your drink! They have a huge selection of drinks you can walk up and choose from once purchasing a wristband. We tried out their margarita! We also grabbed some candied almonds from The Nutty Barvarian and of course a hotdog and a personal sized pizza from the concessions before the game started. There were so many options for local beer, Bold City Brewery caught our eye. We grabbed a cup of the classic, Duke’s Brown Ale which was perfect with our pizza.
Another favorite thing about going to an Icemen game are the opportunities to win free stuff and the hilarious jumbo cam games. We like the “The Floss Cam” where everyone gets up and does the floss dance move to get on camera. There were also multiple rows that won a pizza at one of our favorite local businesses, Donatos Pizza! We also love the Chuck-A-Puck fundraisers the Icemen host where fans get to purchase a puck to benefit a certain organization in need and chuck it onto the ice during a designated time.
It is so fun watching people enjoy the Icemen game and to have the chance to join in the fun. Make sure to also try and snag a photo with the Jax Icemen mascot, Fang. He walks around the stands to greet fans and you can grab a quick selfie with him! We definitely recommend dressing warm because the ice makes it feel like a winter wonderland in the arena!
