Here’s What’s New in Jax – Spring 2023

There is no shortage of new and exciting businesses opening in Jax.

Jacksonville is the biggest city in the United Sates by land mass and is constantly developing and enhancing the experience for visitors. With more than 840 square miles, it can be hard to keep up with all the exciting new businesses and attractions that pop up on every corner. From delicious restaurants to fun attractions and trendy boutiques, here are some of the latest openings in Jax.

1928 Cuban Bistro – Beach Blvd

There is nothing better than warm Cuban sandwich and you won’t find one better than at 1928 Cuban Bistro. A local favorite, this restaurant recently opened their fourth location at The Gates of Beach Boulevard retail center in Jacksonville Beach. The bistro focuses on bold espresso and Cuban flavors such as Guava pastries, Cuban empanadas, ham croquetas, flan and tres leches. This location is their largest yet and features a private event room for up to 25 people as well as new menu additions.

QBALL Billiards

Looking for a new hangout spot? QBall recently opened their second location in the Beach Plaza shopping center at 1126 Beach Blvd. The new family friendly location features state-of-the-art pool tables, electronic dartboards, three-cushion billiards, plus a full restaurant and sports bar. QBALL Billiards also hosts tournaments and APA leagues throughout the week.

Springhill Suites Baymeadows

Stay in style with the brand new 120-suite SpringHill Suites by Marriott in the Baymeadows area of Jacksonville. Located just off I-95 at 9325 Baymeadows Road, the all-suite hotel features upscale, stylish décor, complimentary amenities, a heated outdoor pool, fitness center and unique environment that allows guest to have an enjoyable time away from home.

Lone Wolf Co

If you are craving a sandwich but want something slightly eccentric, then Lone Wolf Co in Jacksonville Beach is the place for you. Lone Wolf features an array of specialty sandwiches with unconventional flavors. Each sandwich is made with locally sourced bread from The French Pantry and the restaurant rotates its menu to include different daily features. If you plan to visit, you must try my personal favorite, the Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie, which is braised pork, fried green tomatoes, Cajun collards, provolone, salt and vinegar pork rind crumbles and honey raspberry mustard.

Oaxaca Club

Located in the heart of Jacksonville Beach, Oaxaca Club is the beach’s newest chic restaurant that gives guests a chance to relish one-of-a-kind Latin cuisine without ever leaving North Florida. The anticipated upscale gathering place, will serve delectable dinner options, inventive cocktails made with Oaxaca Club's very own labeled mezcal and indulgent weekend brunches. The menu features an assortment of flavorful appetizers, scrumptious tacos, daring entrees and Latin-inspired desserts, as well as a wide range of delicious dishes, such as moles, chocolates, tamales, fresh salsa, wood-fired rosemary lemon oysters, pork belly, and more. Purple Mangrove

Purple Mangrove is Jacksonville’s latest vintage and thrift store. Located in the heart of Springfield, it features a large selection of pre-loved and thrifted clothing, jewelry, décor and more. They also have a broad selection of cold drinks like iced coffee, matcha latte, Thai tea, lemonade and specialty drinks. See something you like but can’t make it into the store?
