If you’re looking for some great outdoor activities here in Jacksonville, look no further than Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park!

Located at 500 Wonderwood Drive in Jacksonville, Hanna Park is the ultimate outdoor adventure. Whether you are looking for a fun afternoon or thinking about enjoying a night of camping with friends and family, this park has it all!

Sitting on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, Hanna Park offers freshwater lakes, sunny beaches and campsites. The park has 1.5 miles of wide sandy beaches which is perfect for a great afternoon of fun! Their 60-acre freshwater lake is ideal for canoeing, fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding. A perfect spot for kids can be found near the lake, a quarter-acre water playground with fountains and water squirting devices fun for all ages!

Speaking of fun for all ages, the “Dolphin Pavilion” is an ideal space for meetings, weddings and reunions- just make sure you reserve this hot spot in advance. Other features include numerous picnic tables and grills for cooking out and scenic trails that surround the lake and make for some adventure while hiking through the woods. And the best part – if you’re just coming for the day, admission is only $1 per person or $3 per car.

Camping

Hanna Park offers almost 300 campsites, all of which are in the wooded area of the park and are all easily accessible by paved roads.

Visitors are allowed to camp in tents, RV’s or even one of the parks six cabins! Amenities include: electric and water hookups, coin laundry, on-site general store and restrooms!

Biking

With over 20+ miles of bike trails, a challenge can be found for riders of any level! There is a “Long Trail” and “Back 40” to give novice rides a chance to try their off road biking skills as well as the cleverly named trails “Grunt”, “Misery” and “Tornado Alley” trials which offer an more challenging and advanced ride.

The trails have been awarded as the winner of “Most Difficult Close to the Sea” and was also rated as a 4/5 stars on Trails.com. Many local riders bike these trails on a daily basis and sanctioned races are sometimes held during the racing season. check out a short video of the trails here.
