MORNING:
Pack for a day of fishing, then drive north on A1A pass Little Talbot Island. The George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier is a mile-long, pedestrians only fishing park, located on the Duval/Nassau county border off A1A. The park is named for George Crady, a local Florida state representative and supporter of the Florida State Park system. As you cross the Nassau Sound on one bridge, you will notice the former bridge that was converted into a fishing pier. You will find a parking lot to unload and get started. A $2 fee gives you all-day access.
Take the time to meet other fisherman and map out your spot on the bridge. Once you have located your spot and got all set up, go for it. Fishing the Nassau Sound is a very popular spot for fishing. The regulars can be very helpful and filled with local fishing information.
LUNCH:
When you are ready for lunch, you have a few options. If you packed your lunch, you can choose to just monitor your poles and have a bite. There is a small picnic area available on the bridge. If you want to venture out to eat, there are a few dining spots along A1A, but you run the risk of losing your fishing spot!
AFTERNOON:
Fishing from the shore is also an option. According to the tide, fishing along the shore can prove to be filled with good catches.
EVENING:
If your fishing gear has betrayed you, and your cooler isn’t filled with fish, there are a few local seafood markets and restaurants along A1A to give you the opportunity to enjoy a fresh and locally caught dinner to satisfy your seafood cravings!
